Figure 3. Myopic eyes cannot see distant objects clearly, but they can see near objects, if they are close enough. Initially, an object is placed \(0.09\text{m}\) from this myopic eye. The image of the object still forms in front of the retina, so the image on the retina is blurred. However, by moving the object closer, the image can be made to land exactly on the retina. For the eye in the figure, this happens when the object is at about \(0.06\text{m}\) away.
The place where an object is seen clearly is called the far point.
